Dana Chantilly

For many women, finding that perfect outfit for a special occasion can be like searching for the Holy Grail - time intensive and often not bearing any rewards. This was the driving force that led Dana Freer to open her boutique "Dana" that caters to this very need. Opening its doors in October 2009, Dana is located in Melbourne's premium boutique shopping street - High Street, Armadale. Dana is not only the namesake but means 'Good Luck' in Balinese and was the perfect talisman for the new boutique.

Beyond the polished copper frame of the shopfront you will find a carefully handpicked range of beautiful pieces, each with a particular customer in mind. It might be the school girl looking for one of Australia's hottest designers to wear to her school formal, or a bridal party looking for a modern and fashion forward twist on bridesmaid dresses, or simply looking for a killer cocktail dress that makes you feel a million dollars.

From the moment you walk through the door of Dana, you will notice the style and attention to detail of the interior. From the two French Louis XIV chairs, the zebra skin rug - to the chandeliers throwing a soft golden light through the gauze cover shade. The mix of French antique and rustic furniture makes an integral part of the shopping experience, and creates a welcoming space where the garments and accessories can take pride of place. "I wanted Dana to be a place where women could find gorgeous pieces from some of Australia's finest designers. The space had to feel comfortable and uncluttered but still with an elegant undertone", Dana says of her store. One thing is for sure, this boutique is the one to visit when you want to look and feel your best for that special event or just wanting to look glamorous from day to day.
